23.04.2025 | M.Sc. (Econ.) Johanna Grönroos has been appointed as the Chief Business Officer of the newly established Efima Ventures unit and as a member of Efima's management team. The newly founded Efima Ventures focuses on developing new business opportunities, particularly in the areas of artificial intelligence and sustainability.

The business environment for companies is undergoing a transformation. Accelerating AI development and growing expectations for sustainability are rapidly shaping the conditions for business. Organizations are expected to apply new technologies to intellectualize their business processes while meeting increasingly high expectations for promoting sustainability. This creates both pressure and opportunities for business renewal. The newly established Efima Ventures focuses on supporting companies in responding to these opportunities.

The establishment of the new business unit is a natural step for Efima as part of its long-term strategy. Since 2009, Efima has been helping companies develop smarter business processes, data management, and comprehensive business technology solutions that serve as the foundation for renewal and productivity. These same elements are essential in building sustainable business.

In the field of AI expertise, Efima has established itself as one of Finland's pioneers and has been developing generative AI services for customers' business processes for years. The task of the new unit is to take these competencies to the next level – bringing AI and sustainability directly to the core of new business models, innovations, and growth.

"The sustainability and AI transformation are shaping the strategic boundaries of business. Companies must reassess their operating models and competitive factors, while management must be able to implement both technological and sustainability transformations in practice. We want to help our customers in this change, which is inevitable for everyone", comments Johanna Grönroos, Chief Business Officer of the new unit.

Grönroos has previously served as Director of Strategy and Development and has led advisory services in finance and sustainability consulting.

"Johanna's strong experience in strategic business development and growth, combined with her expertise in sustainable business, brings excellent approaches to the development of our services", comments Efima's CEO Tero Salminen.
